Melissa King was born in Boston Massachusetts. At an early age she exhibited her talent for the arts and love for animals. She remained in the Boston area until she began her college career at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. There, she focused her study on studio art and art history.
While studying abroad in Florence Italy, she decided to pursue a career in art conservation because it combined her talents in art, art history, and chemistry. After graduation, Melissa had a revelation to start a business painting custom portraits of pets because of her love of animals and her ability to paint.
She was greatly influenced by the famed artist of the 20th century, “Pawblo Picasso.” :) She soon found out that there is indeed a market for this and in turn made her business her full time job, while she continued to apply to graduate programs in conservation. Now, she lives in Allston Massachusetts, where her studio is also her 12x14 bedroom.

She works as an art conservation intern at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, where she is helping to clean two Etruscan Sarcophagi, while behind glass, in a project entirely visible to the visitors of the museum.
She greatly enjoys getting visitors while working at the museum (hint hint).
She enjoys listening to music, going to concerts, dancing, skiing, running, and yoga.
